Education Programme & Workshops
There will also be numerous community and arts activities in the lead up to the event. Arts workshops in the lead upto Mela 21 will be an opportunity for your students to learn from the best artists from India and the UK, with arts, citizenship, history and literature curriculum links, it is also an opportunity to profile your school through the banners produced by the students displayed at an event that attracts upto 10,000 people at Mela 21.
Mela 21 will showcase the creative work and art from these workshops at the Nottingham and Bradford Mela's, in the form of on-site displays and sign.
Acclaimed local artists Ranbir Kaur and Samiah Haleem will be delivering the workshops at the New Art Exchange, so you have an opportunity to visit this amazing new arts venue. There will also be special dance workshops in June 09 with the Shree Vasuki Sanskrutik Group (India) exponents of traditional Gujarati folk dance, with the option of having these workshops take place at your school.
